Green Growth Nepal (GGN) was established on 24 October 2013. GGN adopting the concept of Green Growth within the Nepalese context and dedicated to pioneering and diffusing in Nepal a new paradigm of economic Growth: Green Growth. Green Growth integrates Key aspects of economic performance, such as poverty reduction, job creation and social inclusion, with those of environmental performance such as mitigation of climate change and Biodiversity Loss and security of access to clean water and energy. GGN sensitize people and Government through media and collaborate globally to bring technical assistance and builds local capacity for the design and implementation of green growth strategies in collaboration with public private partnership and community engagement.
Vision and Mission
Green Growth Nepal envision and work for the climate change resilient Nepalese society where all the stakeholders of the country enjoying the technology and concept of low carbon emission and Green Growth through strengthen the participation and collaboration of government, the private sector, civil society and local community to ensure job and prosperity for the people of Nepal through conservation and development of land, water, energy and forest resources.
GGN works to enable stronger and more sustainable economic growth around the country by:
- Supporting public and private sector to design and implementation of green growth economic development plan at national, district and local level based on land, water, energy and forest resources.
- Facilitating Public-Private-community cooperation to strengthen the enabling environment for resource-efficient investment, innovation and diffusion of best practice in the private sector.
- Pursuing research to advance the theory and practice of green growth, drawing particularly from the experience of the community and industries with which GGN works.
- To develop and work with national, regional and global alliances and network to ensure green growth.
Green Growth Nepal(GGN) sensitize people and Government through media and collaborate globally to bring technical assistance and builds local capacity for the design and implementation of green growth strategies in collaboration with public private partnership and community engagement. GGN initiated to Publish Bansanchar (Forest Communication) Bimonthly magazine and Bansanchar.com (now ecoecopolitics.com) online to advocate and promote the National campaign of Forest Decade and Support to developed national network of private forest owner as well as national Network of Community forest enterprise and Ecotourism . Magazine and online media covered and promote the positive news and views of the forest and environment sectors of the country by mainstreaming the forestry sector as a key sector for achieving prosperity of the country. For this green growth Nepal able to develop countrywide formal and informal network with different partners, person and organization .
